All the characters, main and secondary, are written as if the reader is right there, in their heads, on this island with them. I wondered how the author was going to keep the plot as fresh and thrilling as in Man Hunt, and wow, not only did he do just that, he didn't veer off into any sort of preaching despite the difficulty of the horrors he's writing about. The perspectives of male abuser and victim, and female victim and abuser are written...well, a brilliant and continuous display of show not tell.
I did see a twist coming in book one, so the helicopter ride that happens toward the end of Woman Scorned wasn't unexpected, but the depth of realism, thought and emotion put into writing the scene was amazing--just like all of book one and two of this series is.
I cant recommend this author enough and look forward to the release of the next installment.

Fantastic story. This is the second book in the Man Hunt series and unlike most sequels this one didn't disappoint at all. Mr. Fritz does a great job not only describing his characters but he also makes you feel like you are right next to them going through everything they do and experience.

"Woman Scorned" plunged deeper into the hearts and minds of the characters in "Man Hunt" giving us a greater understanding of their perspectives and the going on's of Monroe's Island. This book further shows just how easily lines may blur in good and evil, in justice and unjust. I am positively brimming with anticipation for "Battle of the Sexes".
I don't usually write reviews... and this one will be short... just wanted to say AWESOME!! I burned through the first one, devoured the second one... and am now waiting anxiously for the third one. Maybe not everyone's "cup of tea" but I'm really enjoying the story-line and character development. Looking forward to the conclusion! -)
When I got my replacement for Christmas, this was the second book I reread...the first was Man Hunt! I found myself living in the world of Obe as I went about my cleaning routine. I actually thought of him when I threw away a wilted head of lettuce, As a special education teacher, Elton really got to me. He was obviously not all there, but was still able to be so wickedly vile. Curious to see what Josie has up her sleeve and wondering how Stephanie will fare...these books allow bouts of escape from reality, but wrench the reader into a moral battle when they stop and think about what they have read. I have reread them 3 times and will do it again once there is a solid date for the 3rd. Highly recommend reading, For added fun...quote a few passages to your husband (who now thinks I am a little strange for opening up a discussion about what happens to men strapped to tables...I won't give it away)..

I picked up the first installment of this trilogy on advise of a friend. I was going to give it a quick read, politely say it was lovely and move on as I am not usually a fan of the horror genre. I was surprised to find that though some parts of the story were difficult for me, I was hooked. I bought this book when it was released simply because I had to know what was going to happen with these characters. I wanted to root for them and curse them and to see how they were going to grow. I will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next book.

It is not everyday that you encounter a good book and I was glad the day I found this one. Truly this book was well thought out and inspired. The author created a world that blew my mind and had me questioning many of the things going on between males and females today. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I could see where the characters had been developed following the first book. I realize that Fritz is an excellent writer. I was drawn in from the very beginning and I must say i even felt like I was on the island myself. The book posed a lot of questions that not many persons are willing to answer today; the book tackled them and gave us a glimpse of the reality of how the world would be if such a thing was to happen. All in all I must say it was an amazing book and I look forward to more from the author. This is a must read.
