Box of Frogs The Fractured Faery Book 1 eBook Helen Harper
This was one fun book. I loved the unfiltered responses and "don't give a damn" attitude from Madrona, she's really in your face and does as she pleases without making excuses. I must say the intro had me hooked and I couldn't wait for the release of this book. There is intrigue, action, magic, sizzling chemistry and really weird faery names! As Madrona moves through her journey you get the idea that she was really bad, but trying to do the right thing. Helen Harper knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat while making you relax with all the humour. An excellent start to this series and a book I can highly recommend.

Box of Frogs The Fractured Faery Book 1 eBook Helen Harper Reviews
Madrona is suffering from amnesia, and is caught between what her mind is telling her now and the evidence piling up around her is she a force for good or an agent of evil? The Fey community and other non-human beings in the Manchester area are as confused as Maddy is, and so the proverbial jury is out. This first Fractured Faery novel is a fun, jumbled up box of frogs indeed! If you have read this author before, you know she does not disappoint!
Have to say it was hard getting through the first three chapters. Trying to figure out where other reviews said about laugh out loud moments, didn't happen for me. I will try the next book and see how it turns out. Sorry I love this author!!
The first story in the Fractured Faery series is really interesting. The main character, Madrona, is quite comical. Her witty banter, quick comebacks and sassy attitude make for one riotous laugh fest. Her interactions with Morgan are very interesting. I can't wait to see how the relationship between the two develops. I am saddened by what happened to the three brothers, Jinn, Finn and Winn. I truly hope that it's revealed in the next novel that Finn and Julie are safe. I'm also wondering how Morgan will react when he wakes and realizes she has been taken. I can't wait to read the next book. I have so many questions and look forward to learning the answers.
I was very disappointed in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed the slouch witch series, so I grabbed up this book. Unfortunately the humor of the first few pages quickly turned into stupidity. I made it to about 60% and started skimming to reach the end. The plot was just ridiculous and absurd.
Disappointed. I usually like Helen Harper's books. This was funny but not as funny as the character is played. Further, the story is written as serial or three part novel. There is no conclusion in the first book. If this was communicated to the readers prior to purchase I sure missed it.
I read a lot, 100+ books per year, all kinds of books from all kinds of authors. This one is so painful that I cannot even make it past Chapter 4. The main character is an idiot. I will not be wasting any more time on this mess.
An unusual premise and an ass-kicking heroine with amnesia combined make this a very enjoyable read. Trapped outside Faerie, a group of fae in London have agreed not to fight amongst themselves for the duration. Our hero, Madrona, has been operating on the side of Evil distributing dust (addictive pixie dust ) to homesick fae. She wakes in a golf course next to a beheaded fae with no memory of who or what she is, nicks her finger on a poisoned sword and has to work her way out of the resulting mess with only her wits to serve her. She's tough, funny and exasperated. Told she needs some mysterious substance called "nux" to cure the poison creeping through her body, she visits a pharmacy for assistance where she meets a soap opera star and mayhem ensues. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
